~*~ 2013 - Hemimorphite ~*~

Posted by Carina Veling on May 12, 2013 at 10:30am 0 Comments

I bought some Hemimorphite drops a while ago and up until now I only made a pair of earrings with them.

This time I made a wire wrapped pendant. For now on a suede cord until I find some stones of the same color.

The ring looks quite nice!

Well, I hated the oxy/acetylene torch because a local jeweler had a leak in his and it blew up, burning down his studio and putting him in the hospital. And, I just cannot learn from a book and couldn't find lessons in Mexico. So, when I left Mexico a year ago and moved to Arizona, I left my torch there. I never wanted to see it again.

For the past year, I have been able to take some lessons, buy a new torch, and start making the jewelry I love, which is mainly Copper and Brass. I recently took a class in etching copper. I have etched quite a lot of copper and have had strange results. My pieces don't look like the ones in the class I took.

Am I leaving…
